Waddle Throttle

Waddle Throttle is a local multiplayer, figure skating, sumo wrestling mashup currently in-development for the Switch and PC. The game has two modes: a competitive king of the hill mode, where you fight to be the last penguin standing and a two-player collaborative figure skating mode.

In the battle mode there are three different ways to win:

1. Make it to the end of the round with the most health left. 
2. Knock out all the other players before the end of the round.
3. Eat ten fish and survive without being knocked off.

In the pairs figure skating mode, you and your partner try to impress the judges by pulling off the best-coordinated figure skating routine, set to music. I am currently developing this game myself, working primarily in Unity and Maya.

The first version of the arcade version of the game was installed at Wonderville from 1/9/24 to 12/1/24 as part of their Wondercab residency! They also hosted the first-ever Waddle Throttle tournament; some pictures are below.

The 2nd version of the arcade game was selected and shown at Super Magfest 2025 as part of their Indie Arcade showcase. I customized a small arcade cabinet (white cabinet pictured below) for the game, building a custom control panel, and over 1800 games were played over the course of the 4-day conference.

The game was also released as part of a compilation of games (Snack Pack 4)  to support the non-profit Arcade Commons in 2025 alongside other great game and developers.

I currently developing a home version of the game for a Steam and Itch.io release in 2025.
